Nextiva Wireless Video Feature Set
Built specifically for real-world security applications, Nextiva wireless devices transmit images from virtually anywhere with a combination of features unmatched in the industry.
Only Nextiva wireless edge devices integrate radios, encoders, and antennae in compact, NEMA-rated enclosures. This speeds deployment, reduces power and space requirements, and increases reliability.
With compact, weatherproof enclosures, these wireless devices are ideal for outdoor applications, such as city surveillance and critical infrastructure security (such as power plants, military installations, bridges and tunnels, interstate transportation networks, and more).
Nextiva wireless edge devices can transmit video over license-free 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless bands and the 4.9 GHz US and Canada public safety bands. SSL-based authentication and AES with rotating 128-bit key protect against unauthorized interception of wireless transmissions. A unique Verint protocol overcomes standard WiFi limitations, such as hidden node and quality of service problems. Nextiva wireless devices feature enhanced throughput of up to 28Mbps when using the Verint SPCF protocol, and up to 24 transmitters can be connected to a single access point. These features provide more efficient performance, reducing the amount of equipment required and significantly lowering cost of ownership and operation. The Verint SPCF protocol also allows users to configure the system so that a master Nextiva S4300 access point takes over when a nearby Nextiva S4300 fails. This failover mechanism reduces the chance that critical images will be lost, providing a powerful alternative to mesh wireless networks.
Additionally, optional on-board video analytics help security staff rapidly identify important activity, with dramatically lower transport, server, and storage requirements than server-based analytics. An Ethernet port on every device streamlines configuration and enables connection to Ethernet devices.
Nextiva Wireless Video Transmitters and Receivers
Nextiva offers wireless transmitters and receivers for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint use. Using Verint’s industry-leading encoding technology, Nextiva wireless transmitters deliver high-quality images, while minimizing use of valuable network bandwidth.
| S4100 | Wireless video encoder/transmitter and decoder/receiver pair for point-to-point wireless applications, delivering MPEG-4 based video up to 4CIF/30 fps |
| S4200 | Wireless video encoder/transmitter for point-to-multipoint wireless applications, delivering dual-stream, MPEG-4 based video up to 4CIF/30 fps, with optional on-board analytics |
Nextiva Wireless Access Points, Bridges, and Repeaters
Nextiva features wireless access points, bridges, and repeaters for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint use. Each of these wireless edge devices offers site survey tools for easier installation and optimal configuration and supports remote configuration and firmware upgrade from any node on the network.
| S4300 | Wireless access point for aggregating traffic from multiple S4200 devices in point-to-multipoint applications |
| S4300-BR | Two units that act as a wireless bridge in point-to-point or point-to-multipoint applications |
| S4300-RP | Wireless repeater for retransmitting signals from Nextiva wireless devices to a wired LAN in point-to-point or point-to-multipoint applications |
On-Board Video Analytics
Nextiva analytics enhance situational awareness and transform threat detection from a manual, resource-intensive operation to an efficient, accurate, automated process. With Nextiva analytics, security staff can focus on deterring and managing threats, rather than scanning banks of video monitors trying to detect them.
Nextiva analytics are fully integrated with the Nextiva video management portfolio, including Nextiva’s intelligent, policy-based video distribution and process activation. This integration effectively eliminates the operational issues associated with standalone analytic products. And Nextiva analytics-embedded edge devices make sophisticated analytic technology practical and affordable for nearly every enterprise camera, with high-quality images analysis and lower transport, server, and storage requirements.
